The Art Of The High Road

People will not like your decisions. Carefully select your reasons for them. You need to understand them. You do not necessarily need to explain them or to have others understand them. Take the high road.

People will lash out at you. Stand tall. Bear it with might and grace. Take the high road.

You will inadvertently create entitlement. Apologize for the mistake. Take the high road.

You will have to let people go. They will want to hurt you in return. Take the high road.

You will mess up. People will get mad. Take the high road.

People will steal from you. Pursue things legally... and know that all thieves are already in a prison of their own making. Take the high road.

People will hate you because they want what you have and do not want to work for it. Be patient. They will fade away of their own accord. They have no grit. Take the high road.

People will create a story about you that is not based in any kind of truth. Spend no time on this. Your actions already speak your truth: stay true to them, confident in them and focused on right action. Take the high road.

People will want things from you that you cannot give them. They will be upset with you about this. Their reaction has nothing to do with you. Take the high road.

You will be doubted, criticized, judged, and argued with by strangers and the people closest to you. It is part of being a Leader. Take the high road.

You will want things to be your way. Remember to listen before you choose sometimes. There are many great ideas to entertain and dangers to avoid that you have never even considered. Take the high road.

You will want things to be easy. You are in the humanity business. Things will not be easy. Take the high road.

You will want to ask, "Why me?" This is useless. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Why not you? Own it and grow. Take the high road.

You will want to lash out. Be kind. Be grateful. Be forgiving. Be patient. Be resilient in your mindset and firm in your resolve. Have faith. Take the high road.

You will feel like quitting. Pause. Reflect on what is important in your life. Use your reason to decide, not your emotions. Take the high road.

You will get lonely. Find another group of Leaders you can talk to. You are not alone. Do not gossip. Take the high road.

You will wonder if you did the right thing. Train and study constantly. Decisions are necessary of Leaders. Learn from them. Let it go. Move forward confidently and humbly in whatever ways are necessary with what you have learned. Wallowing does no one any good. Take the high road.

Only people who take the high road, learn what gifts await there.

It's your choice.

Always your choice.

Keep Leading.
