Feeling lost? Okay. First things first, take a deep breath and relax. Seriously. Take a deep breath. And relax.
It's alright. All of us, if we're honest, have been lost before. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, metaphorically, we ALL have felt like we have no idea where we are, what we're doing, or what we're supposed to do.
It's natural and, like Rumi says, "Your pain is where the light enters you." So, perhaps in a way, feeling "lost" is NECESSARY to understanding what being "found" is supposed to be, do, and feel like.
Got all that? You're lost. Cool. There is NOTHING wrong with you. It's going to be okay.
A couple more things to tidy up before we go further:
1. Be sure you are giving time, time. Whatever you are going through, good or bad, will pass. Be patient. Stay grateful, grounded, and diligent.
2. Most of the people you see on social media, or have met in your life who seem to have it all figured out, they're going through their own stuff too. You are not them and they are not you.
Let go of the need to compare yourself to another who doesn't come from your background, isn't going through what you are going through, or quite simply, IS NOT YOU. Draw inspiration from others if you wish, but comparing yourself to others is like comparing apples to baseballs... irrelevant to either eating or to the game.
Now to the question.
Ask yourself, "What's the journey?"
Don't know where you stand in Life, ask yourself, "What's the journey looked like up until now?"
Don't know where you want to go in Life, ask yourself, "What's the journey I'd like to be remembered for?"
Don't know how to answer the client, ask them with kindness and grace, "What's the journey you'd like to go on?"
Don't know what decision to make, ask, "What's the journey we set out to accomplish?"
We are SOLD a great many things in today's consumer culture... but WHAT do you want from Life?
What's your journey all about? You can change it or improve it at anytime.
Etch your values in stone but give your Path the ability to ebb and flow, react and adapt.
There's no one way to get where you want to go and, many times, getting lost is a wonderful way discover things, and things about yourself, you never knew existed.
Enjoy yourself. Breathe. You got this.
