Dig For This One Thing When You Are "Lost".

Every great story has an "arc".

Hero is lost. Hero has a cause thrust upon them. Hero gains momentum. Hero meets the defining obstacle where "all is lost", self-doubt crashes down, and hope has vanished.

Hero digs as deep as he or she ever has in his or her life. Hero makes a decision. Hero rises. Hero moves forward, ready to die with a full heart if necessary.

Hero wins.

A hero cannot be a hero if they do not get lost sometimes, if the odds are not stacked against them some times, if they don't do battle with self-doubt, if it doesn't look like they are going to make it sometimes.

The reason we all resonate with our heroes is because we are all on our own heroic journeys, even if we don't see it or believe it yet.

You will stumble. You will fall. You will get the crap kicked out of you and be emotionally wrecked. You will beat yourself up. You will have pain thrust upon you and pain you created.

Yes, you will have these hard and sometimes terrible things.

Because every hero does. Because every hero needs these things to happen. And, as I said before, YOU are a hero.

Or, at least, you can be. No matter what you've done, you can still die well, good, and whole if you're willing to do the work the serves your comeuppance, reconciliation and renewal.

Where does this heroic journey begin? At birth? At pain? At war? At realization?

It's different for each one of us. But the heroic journey is sustained in one way: knowing and owning your emotional root. Why did you create bad action? Why do you aspire to good action?

Not the surface why. That's not going to cut it.

You need the deep why, the painful why, the tear-filled why, the why that instills discovery, reason(s), accountability, and a hopeful/helpful Spirit.

Until you have your emotional root, you will not understand your hero's journey, and maybe, you might fold before you win.

In the end, a hero always saves the day. You are a hero. Aspire to be the kind of hero that owns their reflection in the mirror with a full heart.

Capes are optional.

What is your emotional root my heroic friend? You got this. Hugs.
